I've just gotten out of the Reem Acra show. Thanks to the lovely Beauty Addict and Style Bites, who shot these pictures from where we were seated (front row!), I am able to bring this review to you before even Style.com.
Reem Acra has made a name for herself in the wedding and evening wear markets. Even if you don't recognize the her name, chances are you've seen the designer's work. Celebrities from Halle Berry to Christina Applegate to Penelope Cruz have worn her designs.
Highlights of the collection included the fabrics, a selection of demi-couture looks, and a few absolutely stunning gowns. Materials are a key focus of a number of Spring 2007 collections. The metallic brocades and linen satins treated with techniques to create both matte and shine Reem Acra used for some of her looks did not photograph extremely well as they diffuse the light, but they add tremendous interest to the clothes. Extremely intricate beaded pieces, such as the deep purple dress pictured above, are undoubtedly demi-couture. Finally, the red and champagne pleated silk chiffon gowns pictured at the top of this post will surely appear on the red carpet.
I know this will come as a very strange request... but I was wondering if you had any pictures of the Spring 2007 Reem Acra wedding gowns? I was on the knot.com and saw a preview of the gowns for Spring and there was the most gorgeous halter that was intensely sparkly up top :-) Just curious...

DC, while still a "shopping mecca" compared to other areas, is slowly getting better...but I'd much rather be in New York...or Paris :)
