About

  • Aesthetics + Economics is my attempt to find an outlet for an intense interest in fashion and design in general. My aims are twofold: to find interlocutors so that I might refine my knowledge of the inner workings of fashion and the design-oriented business world, and to share that interest and information with fellow fashion devotees! Comments are VERY welcome. Please tell me what you think, whether it be to agree, disagree, argue, or enlighten me. Tuleh - Spring 2007

Tuleh_1
Yesterday I attended Tuleh. Prior to the show, I had not generally associated Tuleh with Diane von Furstenberg, Cynthia Steffe, and Tracy Reese--designers which, in my mind, serve the same target market. Judging by this collection, however, it looks as if Tuleh is a direct competitor with these labels. Aside from a couple of standout looks, it was a little bit like shopping at Neiman Marcus back in DC. Saks and Neimans will surely snap it up, and it will sell "like bagels," as Heidi Klum might say, but we know from past collections that Bryan Bradley can whip up more exciting creations than those he sent down the runway yesterday evening.

Although Caroline Winberg did look stunning in that dotted white number.
